Born in England, Samantha Kinstle grew up involved in the Pony Club and competed in eventing and dressage into her late teens. On summer breaks while in college she worked for Matt Ryan (Double Olympic Gold Medallist for Australia), where she had the opportunity to travel to international events as part of the 3-day team.

At age 18 she spent a year as a working student for Ferdi Eilberg (International GP rider, U.K. Dressage Team Coach, former dressage trainer to the British 3-day Event Team 1981-1992). Working in such a top-class environment helped set the standard she still strives for today.

After her time there she travelled to Austria, where she worked at the private stables of Hans Riegler (Chief Rider and Deputy Head of the Spanish Riding School of Vienna). Riding many horses a day under his watchful eye proved to be an invaluable learning experience. She returned there for further training three years later.

On her return to the U.K. Samantha met and became friends with Sally Newcomb, a B.H.S.I. (British Horse Society Instructor). Sally was looking for a manager for her facility and Samantha stepped in. She stayed for four years and during this time had numerous wins at 4th and Advanced level, as well as training many young horses that went on to event and compete in dressage. She also developed an interest in judging and became a listed U.K. dressage judge.

Joey Amory (DVM)
April Breazeale ( Barn Manager/Assistant Trainer)
April rode recreationally as a child and later developed an interest in dressage through Justine Tibbles, Director of the Equestrian Center for Camp Greystone in Tuxedo N.C. Then after moving to Columbia, S.C., began taking regular lessons while managing an outdoor retail store.

In 2006 April and her husband moved to Charlottesville where she met Samantha and Joey and began taking lessons and helping out in the barn. She quickly became a valuable member of the team, and went on to become the Barn Manager for Jask Dressage. As well as keeping everything running smoothly in the barn, she also assists in the regular training of the horses and enjoys teaching beginner adults in the basics of dressage as well as continuing to further her own riding career.
Jask Dressage was started in 2005 by Joey Amory and Samantha Kinstle. Both riders shared similar ideas about training horses and so they joined forces and created the company. Meanwhile, Joey continued his education in school.  He graduated this spring as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and is now heading for a great career in Radiology. He will assist  in an advisory capacity and continue riding when and where possible.

Samantha has a wonderful staff, namely her manager and assistant trainer April Breazeale.  Together they maintain a working student program with both short and long term students accepted year-round.
